Note-worthy: Justin Bieber Someday Valentine

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Justin Bieber has launched a special Limited Edition packaging of his hugely successful perfume Someday. At Macy’s in NYC your gift with purchase is Someday boxed rose — chemically treated to last forever! It also comes with a $15 gift card for 1-800-Flowers.

ADDENDUM: I used my $15 gift card to send flowers for my grandmother’s funeral in St. Louis. They never arrived. Eventually, I was issued a refund but I am very unhappy about it.

Note-worthy: Zsa Zsa Gabor

Happy birthday Zsa Zsa Gabor! After numerous health scares, it is wonderful to report that Zsa Zsa has just celebrated her 95th birthday.

Gabor had her own short lived fragrance called Zig Zag. I need to do more research on it before I write anything definitive. But below are some photos of various items from the Zig Zag collection as well as an image of “The Book of Seven Secrets” for which Gabor was a spokesmodel.

Spokesperson of the Week: Tom Brady

In honor of the Superbowl, Tom Brady is our Scent Spokesperson of the Week.

Brady, quarterback for the New England Patriots, signed on to be the new official Stetson spokesperson in print and TV campaigns beginning in September 2007. Over the 2 and a half years of his contract, Brady appeared on Stetson colognes including Stetson Black, Stetson Fresh, Stetson Rich Suede and All American Stetson.

According to a Coty press release “Brady was chosen because he has broader appeal beyond the Western roots of the brand,” he says, “and will appeal to men of all cultural origins in the U.S., while conforming to the values of ruggedness, masculinity and strength that the Stetson brand personifies.”

Actor Matthew McConaughey was the previous spokesperson for Stetson, which launched in 1983.

In Stores: JWOWW

Look out Snookie and Sammi Sweetheart, fellow Jersey Shore castmate Jwoww  (a.k.a Jenni Farley) has just launched her eponymous fragrance JWOWW at KMart.

From her web site:

A fresh, fruity-floral scent with a sensual, musk undertone, JWOWW by Jenni Farley® captures the mood of a carefree 24-hours spent soaking in the rays by day and dancing under the stars by night. Sparkling top notes of citrus and pear are lightweight and flirtatious, while musky bottom notes add heat and a touch of drama. A tiny gold JWOWW charm adorns the sleek bottle, which was created by Farley—(a former graphic design student)—herself.

Since her breakout role in MTV’s record-setting 2009 reality TV series, “Jersey Shore,” housemate Jenni “JWOWW” Farley has been featured in Rolling Stone and Maxim magazines, published a best-selling dating book called “The Rules According to JWOWW,” and been named by Barbara Walters as one of the 10 Most Fascinating People of 2010. Note-worthy: Snookie

Get ready America! Snookie The Fragrance launches today! Really.

Yes, the Jersey Shore reality TV star has her own fragrance which she will launch today on HSN. Directly from the HSN website: “Playful, flirty, sweet and sexy, the Snooki namesake fragrance is inspired by Nicole Polizzi’s favorite treats – no, not pickles! This premiere fragrance embodies the essence of Snooki from head to toe – all 4′ 9″ of her. Involved at every stage of the creation process, Snooki incorporated her signature style in everything from the bold animal print patterns and spike details on the bottle to the delicious notes reminiscent of sweet cotton candy from the boardwalk. To Snooki, it’s simply ‘the kind of fragrance that makes you hungry for more Snooki.’”

Snookie perfume

Snookie features top notes of lychee, quince flower and kiwi; middle notes of pink cupcake accord (really, I’m not making this up!), white jasmine flower and beach flower; and base notes of woods, seaside driftwood and sugared musk.

I am thrilled to say that I already have mine, along with the gift-with-purchase leopard totebag (with Snookie logo lining).

And I have to admit that I just love the packaging. It’s really playful and 80′s — a campier version of Sarah Jessica Parker’s SJP NYC. The best part: the Snookie celebrity barcode on the back of the box. Whoever designed that deserves a raise! Bravo.

Impersonator: Katy Perry Meow

After holding a “Guess the Name of My New Fragrance” contest on Twitter, Katy Perry has announced that the follow up to her debut fragrance Purr would be called Meow.

Unfortunately, there is already a knock-off Purr called Meow. Check out the compare/contrast photos below:

Note-worthy: America’s Next Top Model

America Next Top Model perfume

America Next Top Model perfume

Tyra Banks is one of the few celebs out there who probably SHOULD have a fragrance and doesn’t.  Instead, we will have to settle for the first America’s Next Top Model fragrance, “Dream Come True”, when it launches in January.  On a recent episode of America’s Next Top Model, Cycle 17: All Stars, Lisa D’Amato won a challenge that would make her the face of the fragrance.

As far as the notes go, “Dream Come True” opens with red currant, honeydew and pink freesia. The heart of Amazon lily, plum blossom and empress peony is laid on the base of blonde woods, musk, pink sugar and Tahitian vanilla.

It will be sold at Target for $21.99 for a 1-oz. eau de toilette, or $12.99 for a 30-ml. perfume.

In 2008, Jennifer Hof won her own fragrance on Germany’s Next Topmodel, which is hosted by celebrity scentster Heidi Klum. LR Fragrances (who also released Klum’s first 3 fragrances) released “Jenny K.L.” in 2009.

In Stores: Taylor Swift Wonderstruck

Justin Beiber and Beyonce step aside! Wonderstruck, the first fragrance from crossover country/pop singer Taylor Swift,  is now in stores and it has “hit” written all over it. Launched by Elizabeth Arden, the perfume is created by Olivier Gillotin of Givaudan.

Wonderstruck is named after a lyric from Swift’s song “Enchanted”: “I’m wonderstruck, blushing all the way home.” Says Swift, “Wearing perfume is such a unique way to create memories. Like songs, a scent can take you back and allow you to relive a moment in time.”

The ad campaign features Swift walking though a forest filled with crystal chandeliers and Swift wearing a $7500 gown made by Project Runway winner Christian Siriano.

The fragrance composition features top notes of apple blossom, raspberry, dewberry, green tea, and freesia; middle notes of  vanilla, white hibiscus and honeysuckle; and base notes of sandalwood, golden amber, musk, and peach.

Swift fans will be clamoring for one of the many gifts-with-purchase currently available: a quilt-like hobo bag, a keepsake box and an air freshener.

In stores: Celine Dion Signature

Celine Dion has released her 15th scent — Celine Dion Signature. It features top notes of  mimosa blossom, pink lady apple and  Guava. The 1.7 oz. bottle is now available at www.kohls.com and is now being stocked in Kohl’s stores for $33.50.

Those in Vegas should also be able to find it at Celine’s boutique.
