In Stores: JWOWW

Look out Snookie and Sammi Sweetheart, fellow Jersey Shore castmate Jwoww  (a.k.a Jenni Farley) has just launched her eponymous fragrance JWOWW at KMart.

From her web site:

A fresh, fruity-floral scent with a sensual, musk undertone, JWOWW by Jenni Farley® captures the mood of a carefree 24-hours spent soaking in the rays by day and dancing under the stars by night. Sparkling top notes of citrus and pear are lightweight and flirtatious, while musky bottom notes add heat and a touch of drama. A tiny gold JWOWW charm adorns the sleek bottle, which was created by Farley—(a former graphic design student)—herself.

Since her breakout role in MTV’s record-setting 2009 reality TV series, “Jersey Shore,” housemate Jenni “JWOWW” Farley has been featured in Rolling Stone and Maxim magazines, published a best-selling dating book called “The Rules According to JWOWW,” and been named by Barbara Walters as one of the 10 Most Fascinating People of 2010. The Long Island native—who studied fine arts and graphic design while moonlighting as a club promoter in New York City before taking a star turn with the popular cable station

In Stores: Taylor Swift Wonderstruck

Justin Beiber and Beyonce step aside! Wonderstruck, the first fragrance from crossover country/pop singer Taylor Swift,  is now in stores and it has “hit” written all over it. Launched by Elizabeth Arden, the perfume is created by Olivier Gillotin of Givaudan.

Wonderstruck is named after a lyric from Swift’s song “Enchanted”: “I’m wonderstruck, blushing all the way home.” Says Swift, “Wearing perfume is such a unique way to create memories. Like songs, a scent can take you back and allow you to relive a moment in time.”

The ad campaign features Swift walking though a forest filled with crystal chandeliers and Swift wearing a $7500 gown made by Project Runway winner Christian Siriano.

The fragrance composition features top notes of apple blossom, raspberry, dewberry, green tea, and freesia; middle notes of  vanilla, white hibiscus and honeysuckle; and base notes of sandalwood, golden amber, musk, and peach.

Swift fans will be clamoring for one of the many gifts-with-purchase currently available: a quilt-like hobo bag, a keepsake box and an air freshener.

In stores: Celine Dion Signature

Celine Dion has released her 15th scent — Celine Dion Signature. It features top notes of  mimosa blossom, pink lady apple and  Guava. The middle notes are Indian jasmine, rose essence and magnolia blossom and the bottom notes are musk, amberwood and sandalwood.   The perfume’s slogan is “Be Impossible To Forget.” The elegant bottle showcases a relief of Celine’s silhouette molded into the glass at the back of the bottle.

The 1.7 oz. bottle is now available at www.kohls.com and is now being stocked in Kohl’s stores for $33.50.

Those in Vegas should also be able to find it at Celine’s boutique.

In stores: Beyonce Pulse

Beyonce Pulse is now available in select Macy’s stores. The official launch is slated for August.

Pulse opens with top notes of pear blossom, frozen bergamot and accord of Blue Curacao liqueur. The middle notes are Bluebird orchid, peony and midnight blooming jasmine. The base is Madagascar vanilla, musk and precious woods.

It comes in an upside-down chrome-and-blue bottle with a metallic, holographic box.

In stores: 4 by Mariah Carey

Four new Mariah Carey fragrances can now be found in stores this week.

The first 3 are M Mariah Carey’s Lollipop Splash the Remix, a trio of limited edition flankers to her sugary Lollipop Bling trio. Each of the “Remix” trilogy, like the previous Blings, is named for a Carey song: Inseparable, Never Forget You, Vision of Love. The original Lollipop trio was released in partnership with Bazooka Candy Brands, a division of Topps Co. Inc. These are not.

The notes are:
• Inseparable (the one in the hot pink bottle) has notes of raspberry, mango, pear, jasmine, plum blossom, orange flower, praline, sandalwood and vanilla beans.
• Never Forget You (in an orange bottle) features notes of jelly bean, golden peony, Italian mandarin, raspberry nectar, pineapple sorbet, wild wisteria, muguet, sugared wood, vanilla and pink musk.
• Vision of Love (in a purple bottle) has notes of mandarin, coconut, star neroli, French macaroon, purple jasmine, white peach, sandalwood, vanilla infusion, and creme de musk.

Inseparable, Never Forget You and Vision of Love are available in 30 ml Eau de Parfum, $35 each at Macy’s, hsn.com, or www.mariahcarey.com. HSN also offers a cute “Boom Box” collection with a 1 oz. Inseperable and a trio of .27 oz. rollerballs in each scent for $57.

Industry sources estimate retail sales of $8 million to $10 million for M Mariah Carey’s Lollipop Splash the Remix. And folks wonder why celebrities release so many fragrances!

The fourth new Mariah scent (or “flavors” as they are calling them in marketing materials — perhaps a bit unwisely) is a new addition to the original Lollipop Bling collection. This one is called That Chick. It features notes of cantaloupe, mango, apricot smoothie, orange candy, and musk. The “ombre” bottle starts off orange-colored at the top and graduates down to a purple hue. (The colors of the new Remixes. Confused?)

That Chick is available exclusively at Walmart for only $19 for .05 oz / 15 ml.

In stores: Kate Walsh’s Boyfriend

Best known for her role as Dr. Addison Montgomery on the ABC dramas Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice, Kate Walsh debuted her first fragrance Boyfriend on HSN in November 2011.  It sold out in a matter of days (except for a rollerball and a perfume compact version).

The good news is that Boyfriend is now in stock and available in a variety of sizes and versions at Sephora stores and online.

Boyfriend capitalizes on the current fashion trend of “boyfriend” apparel: men’s jeans, shirts or jackets that look like they were borrowed and effortlessly thrown on. Withe her debut fragrance, Walsh wanted to capture the scent of a guy on a girl: a man’s cologne mixed with perfume, the smell that lingers after he’s gone.

In a interesting bit of celebrity symbiosis, actor Ryan McPartlin who plays Devon “Captain Awesome” Woodcomb on NBC’s Chuck plays Walsh’s boyfriend in a great series of  promo video on Walsh’s perfume web site: www.YourBoyfriend.com. A screen cap of Partlin in the hysterically funny vid called “Boredroom” is below (though I don’t think it is his voice in other clips).

Notes: Dark Plum, Myrrh, Night Blooming Jasmine, Benzoin Tears, Skin Musk, Golden Amber, Vanilla Woods.

Price: $35 for .5 oz. eau de parfum at Sephora or HSN, where it is back in stock.
